How Did Michal Break His Leg? | BSD Bike Check & Interview 2026

Miki is going hard, but this time it came with a price – a broken ankle after a crash in Munich. That’s BMX life. Real talk about the injury, the comeback, and the mindset that keeps you in the game. Check out his BSD bikecheck, street setup, and what he’s got coming next.

How’s life going? You had a broken ankle – how did it happen and how did the treatment/rehab go?

Hey hey makeris, life’s finally getting back on track after that unplanned winter sleep you treated yourself to, hahah. Yeah, not the nicest situation, but it is what it is—just part of the game we play. Back in November on the last national team trip in Munich, I managed to mess up my foot on the very first day, which meant breaking all three ankle bones and going through a pretty complicated surgery, ehhhh… Luckily, I’ve got a lot of skilled people around me who are helping me come back even stronger than before!

That’s BMX life too – a broken ankle.

BSD hooked you up with some new parts. How would you describe your BMX? What makes it specific?

Yess yesss, I’m super grateful to Grant from BSD and especially to you, Maker, for making this possible! I’d describe my bike as a city bike, hahah. I run my seat pretty high so I can move around the city easily, and I also ride a slightly bigger frame compared to today’s standards. I’m not really focused on technical riding—I’m more about spots and the opportunities the street gives you. For that, I prefer a more stable bike rather than a playful one. That’s also why I switched to steel pegs last year, so I can ride any nasty grindbox without limiting myself at all!

You’ve really been getting into video production lately, and we’ve seen some print stuff too. Are you working on any new BMX project?

Yeah yeah, I absolutely love video creation—it's been like riding for me since day one! You can get just as creative with filming and editing as you do on a bike. I’ve got a bunch of things in the works right now, but I won’t say too much since my workflow is pretty spontaneous and I don’t want to put pressure on myself—I just want to drop stuff when it feels right. I’ve already got two new videos finished and two more heavily in progress, so you’ll definitely see something soon! As for print, it’s still up in the air, but something will come for sure. I’m pretty demanding when it comes to that, and not everything is as easy as I first thought, so right now I’m kind of stuck in that phase, hahah.

Got any plans for this season?

For sure, but the main thing is getting my leg back in shape and working on myself in other ways beyond just BMX.
