Andrii Nesterov has been riding for Junkride for a few Fridays and has managed to do a lot of riding during this time. He currently moved from Prague to Moldavia. He has also done a lot of foreign trips like Simple Session in Estonia, a trip in Barcelona or the local 420 JAM in Prague. We bring you some photos and a short interview with this killer!
Andrii, how is life in Prague, is it good there?
Wassup everyone! Lot of happened lately, so would like to share some news with audience.
Prague is crazy man! Love it here. Lots of sick spots in streets, new skateparks are being built, Bmx community is active and alive. We often ride with guys from WGDF crew, as well with my other homies from SVK, we constantly having a good times and shredding streets & plaza’s together?
So I’m glad i took decision last year to move in Prague.
ANDREW NESTEROV SHREDDIN IN ESTONIA

Last year you were at Simple Session, what was the event like, what was the atmosphere like?
You asking me about the best trip of my life?
I will answer - SS24. The whole trip was like an accomplishment of all kid dreaming of mine. Absolutely everything i ever dreamed about when i just started to ride bmx - is just happened right there. First when i seat on a flight from Helsinki to Tartu, at the tiny little plane full of only pro riders i was stunned already, but than, as the last passenger i see Garret Reynolds walks in and having a seat straight behind mine. At this point i get absolutely paralized?.
We had first interaction when we landed in Tartu airport, and i was finally able to say words i always wanted to say him face to face. Then Simple Session crew pick us from airport, and i get in a same car with Gary, Godwin, and Grant. Felt like a pro at this moment?
Next day was organised Street Jam from Simple Session with Stoned Street (baltic bmx crew) on the streets of Tartu. Spots was actually not worse than Barcelona, you Not expect that from such a small city.
And than the show started?
Shredding on a street jam side by side with the best street riders of the world, while Greatest is watching your ridding, and eventually getting the MVP award of Best rider of the day - which was absolutely not expectable for me, because i thought i didn’t put enough on every single spot which was on line up, so that’s was unbelievable to me. For moments like this i choose BMX.

Practice days before main event:
Everything was going smooth and well on a practice days, the first time i tried the course was at the closed “VIP” session where only Matt Ray was ridding, so i joined him, and we had a great practice sesh, where i supported him mentally with his entry trick for the run - drop in bar into big quater bank and after he gave me some motivation ant tips to remind a flair which i wasn’t planned to perform during comp run, so that was productive sesh? my legs were a bit swollen after the street jam, but it didn’t affected my ridding a lot. Overall practice went smooth and runs for both attempts in comp was calculated, and separately practiced by parts. I was feeling confident about my ridding and was ready to show my best.
So i came 16, by the results of qualification missing 2 points to make it to the finals. Unfortunately. My legs were getting sore at the middle of the both runs, so it wasn’t it anymore, and it is what it is. And i’m glad i wasn’t blaming on myself, like i did a year before at my first Simple Session debut, where i just shitted my pants coming 42 at qualification, but that’s is another story :D
So i was ok with the result i get year after, and at that moment - it was my 100%, which i gave it all.
It was huge experience and inspiration, so the work on mistakes was done.
SIMPLE SESSION 2024

At the beginning of the year you were on a trip in Barcelona, what did you do there? Was it the classic BCN Life - BMX Clips, Beaches and Estrella?
Yes Sir! Mi querida Barcelona ! ????
Another dream trip happened earlier this year. I was willing for barcelona since 15, and after i came from my BMX stuntman job at the Circus in Stuttgart, i saved enough money to make this trip happen, for my 21 birthday. Barcelona is a paradise for any street culture athlete, collecting the best and most iconic street spots in the world, made the impressions unreal. I felt there like at my hometown Odessa, with this pleasant wether , sea air , beaches, and palms everywhere ?
Actually i met with lot of my friends from Odessa, south choose south! ?
The main goal of the trip was to collect as much clips as possible for my upcoming video part, which will continue the saga of “Volya” part, keeping the same style and brutality.
We were filming with the boys from Incivic crew, which are locals there. The overall style of ridding and riders in Barcelona is different, and saturated with chinks and pedal grinds??♂️. This is not my style pretty much, but i love the way guys ridding over there, they are pure chillers ! Best vibes with locals only, and ofc Estrella instead of water on regular basis ?
So we worked well with the guys, collecting around 15-16 worthfull clips as well with prepared tricks for most iconic spots like Macba, Waves, Forum, and Parallel.
At 18 of January, for my 21 birthday, at the 9th day of the trip, having absolutely sore body from everyday filming - i’m deciding that i’m gonna to try the biggest switch whip in the world down the parallel Cono which is 4m height. Assembling a support group of my sister, best friend, Bespaliy’s twins, owner of a The Cut Bmx Store Pato, photographs, riders of the Cut, and other locals - i’m sending 4 tries down 4 meters of this bitch, and ending up jumping over innocent people, which came out from underground parking, for my last attempt, where i crack my little finger up. After that i was not able to hold a bar at all, and it was over. Man, i’m so embarrassed that i jumped over those people, but it was not possible at any way to predict them coming out of this door, and this is crazy, like i almost took someone’s life away, if there would be a different timing, so that was a Madness?
I’m glad i’m walked away “kinda healthy” after that one, and was able to celebrate my birthday at the city of my dream after.
BUT I PROMISED TO CAME BACK…?
Because i never left business unfinished.

There was a 420 JAM in Prague recently, where you really nailed it, what tricks did you do there?
So we coming back to present time , and that’s was big awaited event to me , because it took a place at legendary Stalin Plaza aka Letná park, which is one of my favourite spots in Prague, and not only for a ridding obstacles, but as well for a beautiful view at the whole city and overall atmosphere over there. So about the event.
The idea of the jam was to collect money for cancer charity organisation, and to connect skate, scooter, and bmx riders all together at one spot. Lots of companies and brands supported, and made this event be Massacre! Was pleasure to see everyone killing it, and pushing each other to the limit, and getting paid for great tricks. So did I didn’t stood on the side , and pulled a couple of bangers out of my sleeve.
Tricks like:
half cab sw down whip , uprail sw down whip, sw tooth hanger bar, over crank arm, crook hard, and backwards crook down the rail, and after big uprail over hard 360, hard truck, and hard 540 - bring me a MVP rider of the Jam and Best Trick Award, so the day at the office went really good , and I went home with NOT empty pockets ?

I see that you are working on yourself, you want to make it somewhere with BMX, how are you doing? What is the most important thing for you in BMX?
I’ve been working out very intensive lately, together with recovery process from small accumulated injuries, so i want to bring the prime shape for 2025 season, and shredding it at every single jam or event as possible. Still don’t giving up on my bmx career , and trying to make it to the top tier pro list, and sharing the courses and streets with a best in the world on a regular basis. I wish i could make out living only ridding my bike, but in modern world and with a place where bmx nowadays at - it’s just not very possible unfortunately, Prague is expensive, Takže musíš makat kamo!
The most important thing in bmx for me is this self battle with yourself, and your frames of limits to always pushing yourself to it max, always trying to reach up the bar and progress in your ridding, And of course because people, bmx connecting people from all over the world, and everyone know that it’s a best therapy when your mind is fucked up, so we all chase this feelings bmx gifting us.
As well bmx will never leave you or will judge you, like people does, it belongs to its owner , it’s a dawg for life mane! Bmx once upon at life - Bmx forever, so long life Bmx Life brothers?
