The correct selection of the Freestyle BMX frame is a key to build a good "custom" BMX bike. This article shows and explains a number of key factors in choosing a new Freestyle BMX frame.

FRAME GEOMETRY

FRAME SELECTION ACCORDING TO RIDGE HEIGHT

The length of the freestyle bmx frame frame is denoted by the total geometric length of the upper frame tube (known as TT - Top Tube). According to it, the remaining geometry of the frame unfolds.

20 "- 20.5" = from 153cm - 169cm

20.5 "- 20.75" = from 170cm - 183cm

21 "and more = 184cm +

REAR BACK LENGTH

The rear structure is measured from the center structure to the center point in the rear wheel feet. This length affects the playfulness of the frame. The shorter the freestyle bmx bike is larger and easier to do with rotations in rotation (rotating 360 degrees, etc.). But when the rear structure is longer, the frame is much more stable in the fields. They prefer mainly dirt riders. Shorter rear structures prefer street drivers as well as many parks.

HEAD TUBES ANGLE

The head tube angle at the freestyle bmx frame also influences steering sensitivity and playability to some extent. Nowadays the most common angle is 75 °. If the frame has an angle above 75 °, the control is more sensitive. If it is below 75 ° it is less sensitive.

 SEAT TUBE ANGLE

The height of the saddle tube is important for the stability of the frame and also affects the attitude of the rider on the bicycle. If it is lower, the bike is less stable but easier to use for park tricks, tailwhip because the rider's frame is easier to pass in the air. If the saddle tube is higher, the saddle itself is higher and it is more comfortable to rest on the legs of the rider thus creating a feeling of stability and greater certainty.

MATERIAL

Nowadays, two freestanding types of steel are used for freestyle bmx frames. 4130 CrMo steel or Hi-Tensile steel.

Hi-Tensile: Smooth-quality steel, suitable for beginners with less advanced riders.

4130 CrMo: Chromium-molybdenum steel, often heat-treated, is used in profiled frames with excellent stiffness and durability.
