What is FREESTYLE BMX PARK and why is it at the Olympics?

FREESTYLE BMX PARK is a branch of BMX where you ride on bigger ramps and do tricks in the air. The ramps are larger than in regular skateparks, mostly 2 meters and higher. The rider has a 1-minute ride in such a park, where he can show the greatest number of the most difficult tricks in a stylish design without falling. In the final, the driver has two such runs, and the better one counts towards the result. The jury evaluates the rider's performance and assigns him points, from which the order of the riders is created.

How is Slovakia doing?

Slovakia has not yet made it to the Olympics in the world competition. The Slovak Cycling Association FREESTYLE BMX supports and has a separate industry and representation created under the association. Slovakia is currently in 19th place among men and 15th among women in the UCI world ranking. We are gradually improving, we are riding in world cups and championships. Representatives such as Tomáš Tohol, Adrián Miko, Michal Kovačovič or Lucia Čajková and Angelika Ižáková are collecting points and maybe one day we will get to the Olympics.
