Freestyle BMX handlebars are a key component for comfortable control of a BMX bike. Manufacturers offer a wide range of options, but the most common construction is two-piece or four-piece. The highest-quality material is 4130 CrMo steel with subsequent heat treatment.
Usually, the bend angles are referred to as 'upsweep' – upward bend, and 'backsweep' – backward bend.
The upsweep is typically in the range of 1° to 4°.
The backsweep ranges from 10° to 13°.
A stronger grip with a 1" diameter.
In today's era, there are handlebar and stem models with a 1" grip diameter, which is approximately 2.54cm. However, this grip diameter is mainly used by street riders due to the impacts from significant heights onto flat ground. This grip diameter reduces the risk of the handlebars slipping in the stem, making their riding experience slightly safer and more reliable.
