A freestyle BMX tire is a component that can greatly enhance the feeling of safety during riding. Choosing the right tires for specific conditions is, therefore, important. In BMX, tires are divided into three main categories: Park, Street, Dirt. Park tires are characterized by a low tread pattern and good grip on concrete and wooden surfaces. Dirt tires have a more pronounced, knobby tread pattern for good traction on soil. Street tires, on the other hand, have reinforced sidewalls for protection during grinds.

In terms of construction, tires are divided into two categories. "Steel Beaded" is the classic construction with a wire bead. "Folding" is the wire bead-free version, which makes the tire lighter but more susceptible to punctures. However, for park riders who like to fine-tune their bike for lower weight, folding tires are ideal and very popular.

The width of a freestyle BMX tire is typically measured in inches, ranging from 2.1" to 2.5". We recommend mounting the wider tire in the front and the narrower one in the rear, not the other way around. Alternatively, you can choose both tires of the same width.

The last point is tire pressure. It is specified by the manufacturer and should be regularly checked and adjusted as needed. Most commonly, tires are made for a maximum of 60 PSI or a maximum of 110 PSI.
